Environmental Services

The role of the Environmental Services staff at HRMC is one of enormous importance to the hospital. HRMC is open 24 hours a day and this dedicated staff ensures, through day and night, that the hospital is clean.

All of the Environmental Services staff at HRMC are trained and must pass:
Competency assessments in bloodborne pathogens
Infection control techniques
Personal protective equipment
Fire and disaster responsibilities
Knowledge of hospital cleaning processes and the chemicals used.

The Environmental Services staff follows South Carolina DHEC rules for cleaning. Along with daily cleaning of patient rooms the housekeeping staff also cleans the Emergency Room, Surgery Center, offices and the Coatsal Plains Physicians Associates Suites at HRMC. This requires extensive attention to detail in order to maintain cleanliness for all patients. Environmental Services is responsible for maintaining the outstanding appearance you'll find at HRMC.
